uwave

UWave, a student-operated radio station at the University of Washington, was facing a pressing need for a mobile app. Recognizing the opportunity to leverage our skills, my peers from my cohort and I embarked on a mission to create a solution. This endeavor seamlessly aligned with the requirements of our Capstone project, and each of us had a personal connection to the world of radio. It was a perfect confluence of factors that drove the formation of this project.

This venture marked my first exposure to a real-world development cycle, where theory met practice. While I had a solid foundation in theory, applying it in a practical context was an entirely different experience. The weeks were filled with daily scrums, meticulous product backlogs, risk management assessments, and competitive analysis. These were aspects of software development lifecycle (SDLC) that I hadn't been particularly keen on initially, but as the project unfolded, I began to appreciate their tremendous value and importance.
