Northwest Black Pioneers
The Northwest Black Pioneers is a longstanding organization that has been a vital part of the Greater Seattle Community for many years. Their mission centers on providing educational programs and facilitating Black College Tours, contributing significantly to the region's educational and economic development. They have forged enduring partnerships with esteemed groups such as The Breakfast Group and Project M.I.S.T.E.R., which share a deep commitment to advancing education and economic opportunities within the Black community.
During my tenure as a designer and developer at an employee benefits firm, our company took a laudable step by sponsoring the reprinting of an artifact crafted by the Northwest Black Pioneers back in the 1980s. My role in this meaningful project included redesigning the cover, meticulously digitizing the aging pages, creating a modernized PDF version, orchestrating email promotional campaigns, and producing engaging video vignettes showcasing the captivating stories within.
At the prestigious annual Tie-One-On Luncheon, an event graced by the Seattle City Mayor, I assumed the responsibilities of photography and crafting compelling video content for our sponsors. This content was prominently featured at the event, underscoring our commitment to the Northwest Black Pioneers' invaluable work.
